For two decades, Nuclear Blast Records has delivered
some of the most successful bands in the history of
metal. Since Nuclear Blast is coming up on the formal
occasion of being around for those twenty years, the
label released “Into The Light” showing
a lighter side of Nuclear Blast’s music. Now,
part two has made it’s debut as “Out Of
The Dark”; showing the darker side of Nuclear
Blast.
Peter Wichers, one of the founding members of Soilwork,
wrote all of the songs on Out Of The Dark. The musicians
featured on the album are drummers Dirk Verbeuren
(ex-Soilwork, Scarve) and Henry Ranta (ex-Soilwork).
Peter Wichers himself also did guitars. Vocalists
include Anders Friden of In Flames, Peter Tatgren
of Hypocrisy, and Mark Osegueda of Death Angel.
The album has a total of ten songs. Each song is
great. They were all well composed and had a good
heavy, rhythmic feel to them and having some major
names from the metal scene to make an interesting
sound, Out Of The Dark has great album to own if you
like the groups on Nuclear Blast Records.
Overall, Out Of The Dark is great. Every song written
by Peter Wichers was very well thought up and composed.
Plus, all of the appearances by the various vocalists
were very well done. Each vocalist that took part
in a song performed it like they would with their
own bands. So if you’re in to a few bands of
Nuclear Blast, then I highly recommend this album
to all the fans out there.
Key Tracks: Dysfunctional Hours, Schizo, Devotion,
The Overshadowing, Paper Trail, and Cold Is My Vengeance.
